Q: How do I rent a furnished apartment?

A: You can get to know those who are free to our furnished apartments here. You can rent an apartment by first asking about the price and availability of the desired apartment. Q: How do I get to my rented apartment? 

Helsinki: You can pick up the key to the apartment you are renting from the key cabinet located in our office with the given code. The handover of the keys can also be arranged when the apartment is inspected.

Q: What does the rent of a furnished apartment include besides the furniture?

Helsinki: The content of the rental is always agreed on a case-by-case basis. Generally, the rent includes the right to own the apartment and the furniture, as well as the furniture and basic equipment, as well as a broadband connection. Electricity can also be included in the rent, but primarily the tenant makes his own electricity contract. We also rent apartments unfurnished.

Q: I have rented a furnished apartment from you. Is smoking allowed in the apartment?

A: Unfortunately, in none of our apartments is smoking allowed inside the apartment or even on the balcony. This is to ensure the comfort of neighbors and future tenants.

Q: How do I know that the apartment I rent is definitely clean?

A: Although we always require our tenants to final clean or clean the apartment, we always check the apartments when the tenant changes and fix the deficiencies in the level of cleanliness ourselves. This way we can promise that our apartments will always be clean when you arrive there.

Q: I entered into a four-month lease for a furnished apartment. I would like to extend the contract by one week. Is it possible?

A: Extension of the rental is often possible without problems and flexibly. We recommend that you contact us so that we can agree on a continuation. Q: In the furnished apartment I rented, I noticed a defect X related to the apartment or its furniture. How did I act?

A: We ask that you immediately notify us in writing of any defects or repair needs you find. You can find our contact information here. If you can't get hold of us right away, urgent faults can also be reported to the housing association's maintenance company, whose contact information you can find on the housing association's notice board.

Q: Does the furnished apartment I rent include parking?

Helsinki: Apartments do not directly include their own parking space. However, it is possible to arrange a parking space in the center of Helsinki as needed. The parking space is always agreed separately in the rental agreement.  

Tampere: Some of the furnished apartments we rent include the possibility of free parking. However, this is always mentioned separately in the object's marketing information and/or in the lease agreement. Otherwise, free parking is not included in the property's rent, but parking is basically chargeable and must be arranged yourself.

Q: In addition to the rent specified in the lease agreement, will the tenant incur any other costs related to the rental of the furnished apartment?

A: The rent specified at any given time includes the costs included in the rent. For example, if electricity and water are included in the rent, the related fees are not billed separately. In general, no other expenses are invoiced in addition to the rent.

Q: What furniture is included in the furniture of a furnished apartment?

A: Apartment-specific furniture varies depending on the destination. The furniture usually includes a double bed, sofa bed, TV, TV stand, dining set, crockery, carpets, tables, lamps, coffee maker, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, washing machine and so on. Q: Where can I get the keys to the furnished apartment I rent on the day the lease starts?

Helsinki: We always agree on handing over the apartment keys on a case-by-case basis. We usually agree on the initial inspection and handover of the key to the apartment on the day of the move, when we check the apartment together before the rental begins. The key can also be picked up with a code from the key cabinet at our office at Eerikinkatu 1.

Q: I have rented a furnished apartment from you. Do I have to file a moving notice?

A: We ask all our tenants to file a moving notice every time they live in the apartment for longer than three months. In leases shorter than this, filing a moving notice is voluntary.

Q: Is it possible for me to go see the furnished apartment for rent before signing the actual lease?

Q: Help, I was locked out in the apartment I rented! How did I act?

A: You can contact our customer service by phone. Outside of customer service opening hours, we only respond to urgent emails. You can find our contact information here. If you can't reach us, you can also call the building company's property management and ask them to open the apartment door for you. Please note that in this case you must have filed a moving notice with the housing company or you must have a copy of the rental agreement.

Q: How do you as a company process my personal data?

Q: Can you also deliver furniture to the apartment that does not normally belong to it, such as a travel cot or a blender?

A: We can also agree on the delivery of furniture to the apartment other than what normally belongs to the apartment. However, such services and their availability must always be agreed upon separately. You can find our contact information here.

Q: How fast is the WiFi in the furnished apartments you rent?

A: The speed of the wireless network connection varies depending on the apartment. Most apartments have a fast fiber optic connection, but some apartments may also have a network connection implemented with 4G technology. Q: Can I rent an apartment from you if I have no credit?

A: We may check your credit report. If the rental is paid in more than one installment or the rent is paid after the transfer of ownership, we always require credit information from the tenant.

Q: Can the apartment be rented unfurnished?

Q: Will I have to pay a rental deposit for the rental?

A: Basically yes. The need for a rental deposit is always determined on a case-by-case basis and is influenced by, among other things, the duration of the rental and the time.

Q: Can I bring a pet into the furnished apartment I rent?

A: Pets must always be agreed separately with us in writing. Unless we have stated in the rental notice for the apartment in question that pets are welcome, pets may not be brought into the apartment even for a short visit.

Q: Does the resident have to clean the apartment themselves?

A: Yes. Renting a furnished apartment is like living in your own apartment, and regular cleaning is also part of normal living. Our apartments have basic cleaning equipment always ready for the resident to use.

Q: How extensive final cleaning must the tenant do at the end of the tenancy?

A: We always define the duration of the final cleaning separately, but the basic principle is that you should clean up your own traces and the apartment should be in the same condition as when you came there. Window washing and other less frequent activities are always agreed separately.

Q: I received an offer from you to rent a furnished apartment. Why is the price different from what is advertised on Oikotie?

A: The prices shown on the shortcut are starting from our prices and usually calculated for a tenancy lasting at least 12 months. The final amount of the rent depends not only on the properties of the apartment, but also on the length and time of the rental period.

Q: Does 2ndhomes have 24/7 customer service?

Helsinki: There is not. We are a landlord who is not available around the clock. The best way to reach us is through your booking channel/message/email/phone during office hours and until 9pm on weekdays and weekends. In the evenings, we only handle urgent contacts. 

Tampere: There is not. We are a landlord who is not available around the clock. You can usually reach us by phone during office hours and by email on weekdays until 22:00 and on weekends until 23:00. In the evenings, we only deal with urgent contacts.
